Project description:

The aim envisioned in this interdisciplinary project is experimental optical detection and quantification of the activity of the enzymes responsible for mRNA degradation using novel double-labelled nucleotide and mRNA-based fluorescent probes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • synthesis of modified nucleotides for mRNA modification;
  • mRNA synthesis and labelling;
  • spectroscopic characterization of modified nucleotides.

Profile of candidates/requirements:

The competition is open to persons who meet the conditions specified in:

  • Article 113 of the Act of 20 July 2018 Law on higher education and science (Journal of Laws of 2023, item 742 with amendments) and the Statutes of the University of Warsaw;
  • Regulations on the allocation of resources for the implementation of tasks financed by the National Centre of Science for OPUS 25 grant;
  • The candidate must be a holder of PhD degree in chemistry, organic chemistry, biological chemistry, biochemistry or related field.

The candidate should have experience in nucleotide analogs synthesis and characterization of their spectroscopic properties, biochemical background and knowledge of bio-orthogonal reactions will be appreciated.
