Professor in Experimental Materials Physics

The Department of Physics and Astronomy invites applications for a permanent position as Professor in experimental materials physics. The position is open from 1. September, 2017.
The research at the Department of Physics and Astronomy covers a wide range of subjects in both theory and experiment. The Department has a number of outstanding in-house research facilities at its disposal, such as the third generation synchrotron radiation source ASTRID2, a state-of-the-art clean room and a wide range of complementary microscopy and analytical tools. The existing solid state and materials physics activities also enjoy a tight link to nanoscience and materials chemistry at Aarhus University.
The successful candidate is expected to conduct an ambitious research program and to contribute to the development of the research field within the Department. The research subject of materials physics shall be understood in a broad sense, spanning the entire range of e.g. surface reactions, fundamental studies of novel nanomaterials to synthesis and technological applications of new materials. Applicants must have a strong record of original scientific research at the highest international level. They should document dynamic leadership as well as the ability to promote collaborative research and attract external funding.
Applicants are expected to document their experience with all facets of university teaching, including the supervision of MSc and PhD students.
