Postdoctoral Researcher in Aquatic Biogeochemistry

The successful candidate will study GHG production and DOM quality dynamics in well-monitored Swedish agricultural catchments using a range of techniques including fluorescence, incubation experiments and high-frequency monitoring to characterize DOM quality and develop indicators of GHG production potential.
The research focuses on geochemical and hydrological processes, aquatic ecology and biodiversity, as well as on aquatic ecotoxicology and environmental chemistry.
The successful candidate will work with a team of Swedish and UK researchers studying GHG production and DOM dynamics in small agricultural waterbodies. The candidate will use a range of techniques including fluorescence, incubation experiments and high-frequency monitoring to quantify DOM quality and develop indicators of GHG production potential.
As postdoctoral appointments are career-developing positions for junior researchers, we are primarily looking for candidates with a doctoral degree that is three years old at most. Applicants should hold a PhD in environmental sciences, or related field and should have good knowledge of catchment hydrology and biogeochemistry. Applicants should also have documented experience of DOM quality analysis and/or GHG emission measurements from surface waters. A valid driver’s license is also required. A strong peer-reviewed publication record, proficiency in English (spoken and written), experience of field work, as well as a broad international network are valuable merits.
