Postdoctoral Scientist or Engineer - Protein Mass Spectrometry

The successful applicant is responsible for maintaining the proteomics platform of the Protein Mass Spectrometry Service Unit headed by Hirofumi Nakagami. The protein mass spectrometry service unit provides proteomics services for research groups at the institute. The unit is equipped with state-of-the-art high-resolution mass spectrometers, which are used for peptide identifications and large-scale proteomic approaches. We are seeking an enthusiastic person, who completes our proteomics team. We expect prior knowledge of peptide identifications by mass spectrometry as well as experience in running and maintaining mass spectrometers.
Successful applicants should hold a PhD in Biology/Biochemistry/Chemistry. Proven experience with the operation of high-resolution mass spectrometers analysing MS data is a requirement. Computer skills, including the use of statistical and scripting languages, previous work on plant proteomics is beneficial but not a requirement. Fluent written and spoken communication in English is essential, and German would be advantageous.
Additionally the successful applicant should be highly self-motivated and team oriented. Strong communication and organizational skills are expected.
