Research Associate (Direct Laser Writing with 100nm Isotropic Resolution)

Within an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) funded project, the School of Physics and Astronomy at Cardiff University is seeking to appoint a research associate in the area of non-linear optical imaging and direct laser writing. The research scientist will develop and apply within this project a direct laser writing tool with 100nm isotropic resolution. The research will be carried out in the groups of Dr. Sam Ladak, Prof. Wolfgang Langbein, and Prof. Paola Borri, as part of a team encompassing two research associates and two PhD students, embedded in a group with about 20 members, and in the environment of the condensed matter and photonics group encompassing 20 academics. You will also collaborate with the schools of Biosciences and Medicine for some of the applications of the technology.
You will be a researcher with a track record of achievement in the field of optical imaging, optical design, nonlinear optics, optical instrument development, and/or optical lithography, demonstrated by publications in academic journals, international conference presentations, and/or industrial collaborations.

This role is full-time (35 hour per week) for 3 years.
Salary: £32,548 - £38,833 per annum (Grade 6).
