Postdoctoral Fellow (Theoretical Chemistry)
Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion
Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany
The department “Molecular Theory and Spectroscopy” is currently looking for up to two candidates for a Postdoctoral Fellow with a PhD degree in Theoretical Chemistry.
The postdoctoral researchers will be supervised by Dr. Róbert Izsák and will pursue research on the topic “Application of excited state coupled cluster methods on large molecules”. The project involves the application of newly developed pair natural orbital based methods in chemically interesting systems. The candidates will have the opportunity to pursue pioneering research in theoretical method development and computational chemistry, both individually and collaboratively, working in the stimulating environment of a highly active and internationally renowned theoretical chemistry department of the Max Planck Society.
PhD degree in computational chemistry or a related discipline. The candidates must have experience in the application of electronic structure theory and computational methods to the study of chemical reaction mechanisms. For at least one of the positions, some experience with method development is also appreciated.
