The project “Holographic spacetimes from simple quantum theories” led by Professor Bo Sundborg aims to use AdS/CFT, or more generally gauge/gravity duality, to derive quantum physics of geometry from quantum field theory. The physics of black holes, worm holes, domain walls, and primordial cosmology, all of independent interest, constitute test beds and motivation for these ideas.
The PhD degree should have been completed no more than three years before the deadline for applications. An older degree may be acceptable under certain circumstances.
In the appointment process, special attention will be given to research skills and experience in one or several fields related to the project, e.g. QFT, theoretical gravity, higher spin theory, CFT, bootstrap, correlation functions, inflation, scattering, and interest in connections between these fields. The research proposal can be important in this assessment.
