We are searching for a highly motivated candidate to join our team to study the role of novel epigenetic regulators in bone cell differentiation and skeletal sarcomas.
Our research group is interested in the molecular mechanisms regulating bone cell differentiation and function to develop novel therapeutic approaches for metabolic bone diseases and skeletal sarcomas. In the current project, we study the functions of several novel epigenetic regulators of osteoblast differentiation in normal bone remodeling as well as in the development of skeletal sarcomas using modern molecular biologic methods (e.g. RNA-seq, ChIP-Seq, proteomics), genetically modified animal models in vivo as well as human tissue samples employing a wide array of modern in vitro and in vivo techniques.
Qualification requirements for the position of a Postdoctoral Researcher are stated in the Rules of Procedure of the University of Turku. Postdoctoral Researcher is required to have an applicable doctoral degree. They should also be able to conduct research independently and possess teaching skills required in the position.
The successful candidate is highly motivated, has a Ph.D. in a relevant field, can execute research projects independently, has experience in cell and molecular biology/epigenetic studies and methods, and preferably in bioinformatics. Previous experience in in vivo animal studies and in bone or cancer biology are preferred. The candidate is fluent in English.
The position is based in the Institute of Biomedicine, at the medical campus of University of Turku providing excellent modern facilities and access to all relevant techniques and equipment as well as to clinical samples.
