Job description

We are seeking a full-time Scientific Computing Technologist to support and assist in the data analysis, imaging processing and hardware programming in the lab. This is an excellent opportunity for developing your qualification and experience in computational research or becoming a professional software engineer in a dynamic research environment.

Profile

Essential

  • A Master degree in any relevant computational fields (e.g. bioinformatics, bioengineering, computer science, electrical engineering, experimental physics, machine learning, robotics, statistics).
  • Proficient in at least one programing language (e.g., Python, C/C++, Matlab, R), preferably in large-scale data analysis and/or computer vision.
  • Willing and able to learn new skills and implement new technologies.
  • Organized and be able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong English communication skills.

Desirable but not required

  • Previous research experiences with omics data analysis and machine learning.
  • Strong experience in imaging processing and computer vision.
  • Familiar with cloud computing and Linux system.
  • Familiar with mechatronics hardware development (e.g., Raspberry Pi, Arduino, CAD design and 3D printing), robotics operating system, optical simulation, etc.
  • Key personal characteristics
  • Computer geek or Hardware hacker.
  • Enthusiastic about problem-solving and making things.
  • Goal-oriented and flexible.
