The overarching goal of this four-year project, the Advanced Prediction in Polar regions and beyond: modelling, observing system design and LInkages associated with a Changing Arctic climate (APPLICATE), is to investigating ways to improve weather and climate prediction in the face of a rapidly changing Arctic. The project has 16 international partners from nine countries and is coordinated by the Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) - Bremerhaven, Germany.
Postdoctoral positions are appointed primarily for purposes of research. Applicants are expected to hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country in Meteorology, Oceanography, Climate Science or in a related field.
The assessment is based on previous research experience. Research analyzing model results and/or model development analysis will be an advantage. Doctoral candidates may apply for the position if they expect to receive the PhD degree before the starting date of the position.
