Job description

We are looking for a postdoc to work on development of the computer software GROMACS, related to using molecular dynamics (MD) simulations to study biophysical phenomena. The position includes development of new methods for managing, and analysing, simulations, as well as to develop applications and improving the usability of the software. The tasks will include programming in C++, but also applied research and good opportunities for well-cited publications.

Qualifications

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree. This eligibility requirement must be met no later than the time the employment decision is made.
  • Research expertise in biophysics, especially molecular dynamics simulations.
  • Experience in programming.
  • The work requires excellent command of written and spoken English, since this is used in the daily work.

  • The ability to work towards research results being utilized in practice.

Preferred qualifications

  • A doctoral degree or an equivalent foreign degree, obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline.
  • Experience in using GROMACS for biophysical simulations.
  • Experience in programming in C++.
  • Experience in distributed software development, such as code reviewing and version management systems, is meritorious.
  • Good pedagogic skills are desirable as well as the ability to inform about research and development work.
  • Experience of developing and leading activities and staff.
  • Awareness of diversity and equal opportunity issues with specific focus on gender equality.
