Your Tasks

The candidate will work on science operations and exploitation of the Submillimetre Wavelength Instrument (SWI) onboard ESA's JUpiter ICy Moons Explorer (JUICE) to pursue an internationally recognized research program with a focus on Jupiter’s atmosphere and/or the exospheres of the Galilean moons. We are looking for an internationally recognized scholar who is interested in assuming a leading role in the SWI team at MPS.

Your Qualification

Candidates must hold a PhD within the field of planetary science or related fields, ideally awarded within the past eight years, have relevant postdoctoral research experience, excellent research qualities, as shown by a publication record in international peer-reviewed journals, organisational competences, and good command of spoken and written English. In addition, experience in the design and operation of space instruments is desired, ideally within the field of submillimetre and/or infrared astronomy.
