The selected candidate will
As part of an externally funded project, we’re looking for a candidate that will assist postdocs and PhD students with data analysis.
The research assistant will be involved in tasks such as
- Data analysis;
- Code writing for data analysis of calcium imaging and behavioral data;
- Developing, testing, and implementing scientific software, i.e., reproducible analysis pipelines and data storage for open science;
- Writing supporting materials and documentation for code and data dissemination.
Research Fields
- Biological sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer science, Data science or Neurosciences.

Skills/Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
- The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, Neuroscience, or similar areas.
Specific Requirements
Essential skills
- Solid programming skills, preferably in Python and Matlab;
- Experience with Python libraries (e.g., NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, and pandas);
- Background in data science and statistics with preferred research experience with statistical analysis on a large volume of data;
- Interest in systems neuroscience;
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently;
- Team spirit, reliability, and sense of responsibility;
- Demonstrates potential for technical proficiency, creativity, collaboration with others, and independent thought;
- Fluency in scientific English is indispensable, both in written and oral expression.
Desirable skills that will also be considered
- Practical research experience in Neuroscience;
- FELASA course to work with laboratory animals;
- Experience with in vivo calcium imaging data analysis (e.g., CNMFE);
- Experience in behavioral experiments and surgeries in mice (e.g., stereotaxic injections in mice).
