Microbiology Activity Manager

MISSION
Within the Microbiology, Preclinical Model & Protein Science Unit, reporting to the Unit Manager, each scientific activity is led by an activity manager recognized for his/her expertise in microbiology, for which he/she maintains and develops solutions in line with BIOASTER's current and future needs.
He/she manages a team of 3 to 5 people to carry out the work for which he/she is responsible, in accordance with the quality and methodological standards expected of scientific projects.
ACTIVITIES
- Within the framework of established priorities, identifies, maintains or implements technologies at the business level, and guarantees their robustness according to the established plan;
- Participates in interactions between technologies, and is involved in presentations of the business' technology offering as required;
- Manages and leads his team, its performance and development;
- Interacts with maturation leaders and project managers, contributes expertise to the development of the proposal to the partner, builds quotations;
- Proposes contributors within his/her team, participates in the choice of service providers and suppliers;
- Assumes the role of maturation leader, project manager or WP leader, depending on the needs of the organization and his/her skills;
- Contributes directly to the execution of projects by leading his team, organizing and planning activities (capacity planning) and directly taking charge of a share whenever necessary, to ensure the execution of projects in terms of cost/quality and deadlines according to the Gantt and estimates;
- Provides expertise in data analysis and report review;
- Identifies possible risks and hazards in execution and associated corrective actions and informs his/her manager and the project manager accordingly.
PROFILE
Skills
- PhD with over 5 years' experience or Master (5/6 years after graduating) with over 7 years' experience;
- At least 5 years' activity in an experimental scientific field in biology.
Technical skills
- Expertise developed in bacteriology and ability to work on other families of microorganisms (viruses, fungi, etc.);
- Microbiology applied to infectious diseases (resistance mechanisms, biofilms, antimicrobials, etc.);
- Genomic engineering of microorganisms (recombination, genome editing, site-specific recombination, etc.);
- Bacterial genetics;
- Management and project management experience;
- Writing skills (scientific writing);
- Fluent in English.
