For this programme we offer a programme manager position being the national and international contact point for researchers, clinicians, academic and private partners. The programme built large deep-phenotyped cohorts of people with and without Parkinson’s disease and individuals at risk. It represents the translational platform, integrating clinical research with fundamental science. It provides the basis for a variety of associated research projects including the Health Brain Aging (HeBA) study as well as the PPMI initiative funded by the Michael J. Fox Foundation (USA), and pioneers on biomarker research, drug development and clinical trials for people with Parkinson’s disease or at risk to develop a neurodegenerative diseases.
The Department for Transversal Translational Medicine is seeking a highly qualified candidate with experience in project management in the biomedical field to support the coordinator in the scientific management as well as the management of activities and the data management within the NCER-PD programme. The successful candidate is an proactive manager, border crosser between clinical and research domains, excellent communicator, and a team player. The ability to work in a fast-paced international academic environment with strong commitment to our translational mission is essential.
Key Accountabilities
- Support the coordination in the scientific development, execution and monitoring of the different cohorts within the NCER-PD programme, i.e. HeBA and PPMI research programmes;
- Work in close collaboration with the other project managers within the TTM team;
- Ensure the timely execution of the programme related activities, including national and international collaborations;
- Support the coordination in organising national and international meetings related to the research programmes;
- Managing the interface across different translational research activities within HeBA and PPMI;
- Collaborate with the communication team to reassure that scientific activities and results are effectively communicated within the scientific and healthcare communities in Luxembourg and internationally;
- Writing scientific reportsg to the national and international funding agency and internal stakeholders;
- Being involved in the establishment, writing and coordination of large projects and stakeholder management within consortia;
- Engaged in outreach activities to raise public awareness and support fundraising to gain further financial support by public and private funders.
Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- PhD degree in the natural/life sciences or clinical research plus work experience in data management, with a focus on project management (at least 3 years);
- Excellent oral and written skills in English. Additional knowledge of German, French and/or Luxembourgish is considered an asset;
- Ability to quickly adapt and effectively organize, prioritize, and execute tasks in a highly dynamic environment with attention to detail and accuracy;
- Professional stakeholder management at national and international level with strong communication skills;
- Highly motivated and flexible organizer and manager;
- Ability to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, thereby being reliable, efficient, and proactive in your work;
- Understanding of data management requirements according to the FAIR principles (making data findable, accessible interoperable and reusable);
- Overseeing and reassuring the adherence to rules and procedures related to data storage and sharing;
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills;
- High-level competency in MS Office;
- Knowledge on patient cohort design is considered an asset.
