Job Description

We are looking for a qualified formulation scientist to undertake a variety of laboratory procedures of technical nature.

You will be responsible for the development of test methods, execution of physical tests of complex nature and formulation work requiring instant observations and physicochemical interpretation. Furthermore, you will be reporting protocols, metadata, and experimental findings in electronic notebooks, and presents the findings to the lab manager. In addition, you will be reviewing data and reports of internal Eurofins PSS associates working in the same domain/

Responsibilities

  • Contact with equipment vendors, incl email, phone, visits, trainings;
  • Design, optimize and standardize experimental test procedures;
  • Perform test procedures, make observations, interpret findings and report conclusions/hypotheses/recommendations;
  • Follow good lab practices in terms of sample and consumable verification and storage, sample labeling, data traceability, result reporting;
  • Record all data and results in accurate manner in specified forms (paper and electronic);
  • Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies;
  • Ensure that all safety guidelines are always followed strictly and maintain a clean and orderly environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is able to work with high level of autonomy and has experience with introduction of and passion for working with new equipment, developing experimental instructions, and is well-trained to maintain safety conditions while working with hazardous substances. He/she is goal-oriented and focused on delivery quality work in a timely manner and speaks up when work does not proceed as planned. The goal is to perform critical experiments and generate high quality data in support of the scientific understanding of pharmaceutical products.

  • Holds master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, physics, engineering, or related field. A PhD is a plus;
  • Fluent communication skills in English as this is the working language;
  • Proven experience as Lab analyst or relevant position;
  • Experience in operating digital laboratory equipment;
  • Experience in working with potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, PBOEL 1 - 4);
  • Familiar with Safety-Health-Environmental principles and with GLP/GMP lab practices;
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and database systems;
  • Experienced with digital lab notebooks;
  • Ability to work autonomously on parallel projects with multiple people;
  • Experience with pharmaceutical formulation processes and development of physical test methods, data-processing, and interpretation;
  • Physical characterization techniques – DSC, TGA, DVS, XRD, powder flow is a plus;
  • Formulation processes: experience with direct compression, granulation, and coating.
