Ruminants Scientist - Translational Science

Join the most innovative company in the Animal Nutrition and Sustainability sectors as a Ruminants Scientist in the dsm-firmenich ANH innovation team. In this role, you will lead ruminant research activities in collaboration with global partners, including universities and institutes. As a member of a global, cross-functional project team, you will design research programs to achieve successful global registration and market introduction of feed additives, digital solutions, precision farming, and sustainability solutions for ruminants.
Key requirements
- Scientific responsibility for ruminants trials (in vitro, in vivo, beef, dairy and small ruminants) with external partners (universities / research institutes / CROs) and internally in our labs and animal trial facilities at dsm-firmenich research centers
- Scientific responsibility in a global, cross-functional project team to design, monitor and document the research program leading to successful global registration and market introduction of feed additives, digital solutions, precision farming and sustainability solutions for ruminants
- Scientific publications (abstracts, peer review papers, white papers, media/communication articles) and internal & external presentations/trainings & technical support
- Scientific support of marketing & sales forces at customer events and visits, scientific workshops, etc
- Ensure availability of state-of-the-art scientific information
You bring
- Ph.D degree in at least one of the follow areas: Animal Nutrition and Health (with focus on ruminants), Veterinarian science, Animal Science/Nutrition, Agronomy, rumen microbiology, animal science skills in dairy, beef and small ruminants and/or digestive physiology or related discipline.
- Scientific responsibility in a global, cross-functional project team to design, monitor and document the research program leading to successful global registration and support for market introduction
- Experience in relevant research arena (academic and/or industry) in ruminants nutrition and feeding trials, feed additives, digital solutions and sustainability
- Project & trials management skills
- Proven ability to design and supervise research trials (in person and remotely), to interpret, discuss, writing abstracts, peer reviewed papers, white papers and present research results and reports
- Strong ability to interact with external partners and to drive work without relying upon a hierarchical relationship.
- Ability to convey complex scientific ideas and concepts in a clear manner, supporting dsm-firmenich teams adding value to our customers
- Ability to work with dsm-firmenich colleagues as a real team member
- Flexibility for business trips (domestic and international)
- Fluent or native English language skills
