Accelerator Beam Physicist
SOLEIL Synchrotron
Saint-Aubin, France
Background and missions
The Accelerator physicist will work in the Accelerator Physics group of the Accelerators and Engineering Division. The group comprises 6 permanent members, physicists, supervising postdoctoral and doctoral fellows.
The main mission of the new recruit is to participate in the preparation of the major upgrade of SOLEIL accelerators, with a focus on linear and non-linear single-particle beam dynamics in the Booster and in the Storage Ring, construction follow-up and preparation of all codes and software tools to commission them and validate their performance and daily operation. He/she will also support the operation of SOLEIL and SOLEIL II, proposing innovative solutions to meet the demands of beamlines and promote new accelerator schemes. In this context, he/she may be called upon to take part in international programs and collaborations.
Profile Required
The present employment is open to candidates with a doctorate-level degree (PhD), with a specialization in Accelerator Physics, preferably with the knowledge of single-particle beam dynamics in a storage ring. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of achievements and publications commensurate with their career level.
Any professional experiences on existing synchrotron installations shall be taken into account and valued.
