Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated technician to strengthen the Monoclonal Antibody (MCA)/Biomaterials-team in Boxmeer. As part of this team, you will be mainly responsible for the downstream processing (DSP) of monoclonal antibodies and other Biomaterials, including optimization of the processes involved.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • MCA/Biomaterials purification using Akta purification system with affinity or SEC columns
  • Rebuffering MCA/Biomaterials using desalting columns on Akta purification system
  • Quantification with ELISA or Octet
  • Labeling with biotin, HRP or coupling to acceptor beads (for AlphaLISA)
  • GLP compliant maintenance of equipment
  • Reporting and documentation of DSP activities
  • Organization of the logistics of received and delivered biological samples
  • Plan and execute experiments and evaluate results
  • Present technical reports to internal and external audiences
  • Perform project-related literature searches

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (BSc) degree in Biochemistry, Biology, or Molecular Biology (Biological Science)
  • Experience in research, manufacturing, and testing of (sterile) biological products
  • Experience in downstream processing in a biological setting (Akta system)
  • Experience with antigen purifications
  • Knowledge of concepts in a relevant biological area
  • Experience in working under GLP/GMP principles/guidelines
  • Able to work both independently and in a (multi-disciplinary) team
  • Able to focus on multiple projects
  • Flexible, ad-hoc approach
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in English, both speaking and writing
