At the Faculty of Engineering and Science, Department of Materials and Production a position as Assistant Professor in Biomechanics is open for appointment from May 1st, 2025 or soon hereafter. The position is available for a period of three years.
Research areas will be within biomechanics, rheumatology diseases, sensory input(e.g., pain), and exercise, with a particular focus on understanding how these factors influence human locomotion and how interventions can be designed to improve this. The role will involve leveraging computational models and experimental techniques to address both fundamental and clinical research questions. Candidates should have experience in designing and conducting experimental testing, including randomized controlled trials, and working directly with patients to gather and analyze data. A strong background in integrating experimental findings with computational modeling is essential.
The teaching responsibilities will primarily focus on the biomechanical engineering education, including topics such as anatomy and physiology, movement analysis, musculoskeletal modeling, statistics, and research methods. Additionally, teaching may extend to other study programs offered at the University.
Appointment as Postdoc presupposes scientific qualifications at PhD–level or similar scientific qualifications. The research potential of each applicant will be emphasized in the overall assessment. Appointment as a Postdoc cannot exceed a period of four years in total at Aalborg University.
