(Senior) Scientist - Infectious Disease Discovery & Research

The position will involve working as part of an interdisciplinary team with the aim of developing the therapeutic potential of RNA. Within this remit, you will focus on addressing formulation issues related to this class of medicines.
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead and conduct research to develop and evaluate mRNA-based vaccines against infectious pathogens with a focus on optimizing vaccine performance and longevity of responses;
- Design, execute, interpret and document in vitro and in vivo experiments to characterize the immunogenicity of mRNA vaccines;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate findings into the broader vaccine development pipeline;
- Coordinate collaborations with industrial and academic partners;
- Stay current with the latest scientific literature and technological advancements in the field of mRNA vaccines;
- Present and discuss data with diverse stakeholders and at scientific meetings;
- Prepare and review experimental data and reports for scientific publication and regulatory submission.
Your Qualifications:
- PhD in Life Sciences with relevant postdoctoral experience in academic, pharmaceutical or biotechnology settings;
- Proven experience in immunology, preferably in the context of vaccine development;
- Strong background in immunological assays and techniques;
- FELASA B qualification preferable;
- Proactive, structured, efficient way of working in a dynamic environment;
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively;
- A track record of scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals is preferred;
- Strong team spirit, communication and presentation skills;
- Fluency in English; German is a plus.
