(Senior) Scientist - Biophysical Assays

As a member of the assay development team, you’ll play a vital role in the optimization, validation and troubleshooting of biophysical assays to investigate interactions between different classes of proteins and small molecule ligands.
Key responsibilities
- Conceptual and laboratory work in the area of protein-based assays and biophysics (96w – 1536w plate format).
- Assay development and supervision/consulting/mentoring of the younger team members in planning and execution of biophysical assays (SPR, MST, ITC, BLI).
- Introduction of novel and optimization of existing SOPs and protocols to study molecular interactions between proteins and small molecule compounds.
- Interdisciplinary communication within the company.
- Literature search and analysis.
Your background
- Completed university degree (MSc or Ph.D.) in the field of biochemistry, biophysics, biotechnology or related.
- Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience in drug discovery/biotech/pharma industry.
- Hands-on experience with SPR, MST, ITC, and BLI as well as FI, LUM, TR-FRET, ALPHA, and FP readout technologies.
- Experience in fragment-based and ligand-based screening campaigns.
- Advanced knowledge in the field of binding kinetics and macromolecular interactions.
- Analytical thinking approach, literature and patent search skills.
- Ability to work in a team and a very good organization of work.
- Good spoken and written English.
