Associate Scientist - R&D Analytics Team

Based in Kaiseraugst, you will be part of the R&D Analytics team and will assume variety of tasks in support of various innovation projects. You will design and set quality standards and laboratory procedures/lab scale experiments and ensure that these are adhered to. You will support and execute trials and evaluation and analysis of related data in order to support the optimization of plant efficiency.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Development, validation of analytical methods for the quantification of small molecules (carotenoids, vitamins, impurities or degradation products) in forms, premixes, feed or biological samples
  • Design, plan and execute analytical work packages based on existing methods and support of the continuous improvement of these methods
  • Evaluation of new analytical technologies
  • Contribute to the technical and scientific development of the team
  • Work collaboratively with other specialists to develop project strategy, propose and implement creative solutions, and guide project teams to successful decision regarding analytics
  • Take initiative and implement new solutions to speed-up, miniaturize & automate sample preparation and analytical workflow
  • Assure full digitalization of generated data
  • Ensure qualification, calibration and maintenance of analytical laboratory equipment
  • Oral and written reporting of performed work and respective results

You bring:

  • Master’s degree in analytical chemistry or life sciences
  • Sound expertise in HPLC-UV and LC-MS/MS technology
  • Experience in quantification of small molecules
  • Knowledge in sample work (feed or animal fluids or organs) in an advantage
  • Proficient with computerized lab environment (LIMS, CDS, electronic lab notebook, scientific databases, etc.)
  • Open-minded team player with flexibility to work in different innovation projects or laboratory teams
  • Good presentation skills
  • Good command of English is required, German is a plus
