(Senior) Scientist - High Content Screening
Selvita
Krakow, Poland
We are seeking an experienced Senior Scientist to join our High Content Screening facility within a large project focused on assay development in neuroinflammation and fibrosis. This role involves close collaboration with cell biologists and AI-based imaging experts. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and has expertise in mammalian cell culture (including hiPSC-derived cells), immunofluorescence/immunocytochemistry, molecular biology techniques, and imaging analysis software, with basic skills in script generation for HCS phenotypic assays.
Key responsibilities
- The principal role in the development and coordination of novel high-content assays for drug screening in a multi-task project
- Supervise cell cultures in ongoing projects and eventually hands-on support to collaborators (e.g. junior scientists)
- Execute medium to high-throughput assays for drug discovery and further compound pharmacological characterization
- Work collaboratively with other scientists in particular for the generation of new scripts or analytical AI and Machine Learning-based methods for high-content analysis
- Execute, troubleshoot and communicate tasks independently and effectively
- Perform data analysis and write reports on research findings, reporting directly to the project leader
- Maintain extremely organized and accurate records
- Provide regular feedback at inter-team meetings
- Provide routine scientific reports
Your background
- MSc in Biology, Molecular Biosciences, Biotechnology or related disciplines with a minimum of four years of experience in an industrial environment (preferably Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biosciences, Molecular Cell Biology, Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology, or related scientific disciplines with a minimum of two years of experience in an academic post-doc or industrial environment)
- Strong experience with mammalian cell culture (experience with hiPSC/hESC and primary cells is highly desired)
- Immunofluorescence/Immunocytochemistry and imaging acquisition (in particular confocal imaging) strong experience and basic knowledge of FRET analysis.
- Experience with High Content Screening systems in a medium to high-throughput assay fashion with strong skills in cell-based assay development and validation with standard HTS/HCA parameters.
- Knowledge of large data transfer will be a plus
- Deep knowledge of intracellular cell signaling and pathways characterization
- Knowledge of cellular mechanism of protein-to-protein interaction is desirable
- Experience with standard molecular biology techniques - i.e. siRNA qPCR, and eventually Western blotting is a plus
