Job Description
- Scientist sequencing of nucleic acids with a clear focus and demonstrated expertise with nanopore sequencing and RNA sequencing, including sequencing data analysis using of-the-shelf software.
- Interpreting and reporting results after an extensive check of the raw data quality and critical results analysis.
- Involved in generating appropriate analytical documentation related to method development up to qualification & validation.
- Presenting results to the appropriate stakeholders.
- Participating to scientific/technology watch in your domain of competency, and will interact with external experts and/or equipment providers to ensure adequate implementation of technological innovation.
- Planning and executing activities in the laboratory in collaboration with technicians and other scientists of the team, located in Rixensart and Wavre sites.
- Providing support and technical advice to technicians and scientists, as well as training to the developed assays/technologies.
- Participating in lab organization and maintenance, e.g. ordering reagents & consumables, follow-up of instruments maintenance & repair in collaboration with technicians, scientists & lab supports.
Qualifications
Ideally we are looking for someone who holds:
- A Phd degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry/Biophysics/Biology/Bioengineering/Chemical Engineering/Pharmacy or equivalent through experience.
- Knowledge in HPLC separation techniques serves as a plus.
- The ability to lead a method development project within the area of expertise, at the bench.
- Sound scientific methodology and thinking, autonomy; commitment to solve problems and thinking outside of the box for solutions.
- Superb communication skills in English. French proficiency? Even better!
- Experience in working in a GMP environment is certainly a plus.
