Position Overview:

We are seeking an innovative and highly skilled Scientist to join our Vaccine Analytical Research and Development team. This role focuses on developing and implementing advanced analytical methods for detecting and quantifying microbes and performing detailed genetic characterization of cells. The successful candidate will leverage cutting-edge technologies, including ddPCR, microfluidic PCR, and advanced sequencing techniques such as targeted sequencing, copy number variation (CNV) analysis, structural methods, and optical mapping, to advance vaccine development.

Key Responsibilities:

Method Development and Optimization:

  • Develop and optimize state-of-the-art nucleic acid-based methods (e.g., ddPCR, microfluidic PCR) for the sensitive detection and quantification of microbes;
  • Design sequencing-based protocols, including targeted sequencing, for cell line genetic characterization;
  • Implement novel approaches for analyzing copy number variations, structural variations, and optical mapping to provide deep insights into genetic integrity.

Technology Innovation:

  • Evaluate and integrate cutting-edge analytical technologies and methodologies into existing workflows to enhance sensitivity, specificity, and robustness;
  • Stay at the forefront of technological advancements, identifying and adopting emerging tools and techniques that drive innovation in vaccine analytics.

Data Analysis and Interpretation:

  • Perform in-depth data analysis using advanced bioinformatics tools to interpret complex genetic and microbial datasets;
  • Translate findings into actionable insights to support vaccine research and manufacturing processes.

Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

  • Generate high-quality technical documentation, including protocols, reports, and scientific presentations;
  • Share insights and expertise with cross-functional teams to promote collaboration and scientific excellence.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • PhD in Molecular Microbiology, Molecular Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field, with at least 3+ years of experience in vaccine development, molecular analytics, or related areas;
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and applying advanced nucleic acid-based technologies.

Technical Expertise:

  • Extensive experience with ddPCR, microfluidic PCR, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) protocols, including targeted sequencing and CNV analysis;
  • Strong understanding of structural methods and optical mapping for genetic characterization;
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and optimizing molecular assay workflows.

Analytical and Innovative Mindset:

  • Proven ability to integrate novel technologies and solve complex analytical challenges in a dynamic environment;
  • Strong critical thinking and data interpretation skills to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with microbial detection and quantification in biologics;
  • Familiarity with bioinformatics tools for NGS data analysis and visualization;
  • Strong communication skills in English. French would be nice to have.
