Main Responsibilities
Product Safety Assurance
- Provide excellence in human health safety that demonstrate the safe use of our ingredients and products to customers and regulators;
- Perform safety assessment of fragrances and cosmetic ingredients;
- Provide scientific and toxicological support for customers, communicate on safety topics and participate on customer meetings ensuring close collaboration;
- Ensure all products comply with customer safety guidelines, government regulations and trade association safety requirements;
- Define safety testing strategy in compliance with REACH and TSCA requirements;
- Work with multiple CROs on study monitoring and report;
- Follow and help maintain process for safety review of new actives and substances developed by research and development;
- Manage efforts in obtaining relevant toxicology or regulatory data needed to support the registrations application and being the liaison between assigned S&T project teams and product safety;
- Participate to trade association meetings and advise Givaudan management on new issues relevant to regulatory policy and issues helping regulatory and safety;
- Be part of Human Health team with interdependencies between functions (Regulatory, Registration, S&T, Formula Management);
- Maintain process for safety review of new and existing fragrances, Oral Care or any new Givaudan technologies;
- Provide internal and external industry guidance to maintain current safety evaluation processes based on developing regulations;
- Ensure all all products comply with customer safety guidelines, government regulations and trade association safety requirements.
Regulatory Policy
- Provide Givaudan management guidance on complex regulatory, safety or product compliance issues;
- Interpret scientific and technical data impacting Givaudan's Global Regulatory Toxicology group;
- Provide leadership for Givaudan's regulatory and scientific advocacy programs to support our projects;
- Represent Givaudan on Industry safety committees.
Product Documentation and Registration
- Lead efforts in obtaining relevant toxicology or regulatory data needed to support the registrations application and acting as the liaison between assigned R&D project teams and Product safety.
You?
- MS Degree/Ph. D in scientific field (toxicology, biochemistry, chemistry or related areas);
- More than 6 years of relevant industry experience in product safety or relevant scientific area or regulatory affairs;
- Fluent English;
- Qualified and experienced toxicologist to work on new technology programmes, customer support and REACH programme and ingredient issues related to toxicology and regulatory compliance;
- Experience in to support technology projects;
- Knowledge of REACH regulations, including hands-on experience with IUCLID dossier and Chesar system;
- Experience in weight of the evidence risk assessment and risk-based defence with regulatory authorities;
- Good general knowledge of chemistry;
- Work with and make a contribution to diverse project areas;
- Experience of safety assessment or ingredient registration processes.
