Evotec, a global leader in Neuroscience innovation, is seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Vice President of Neuroscience to spearhead the continued growth and success of our groundbreaking Neuroscience research programs. As a central member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping and advancing our efforts in neurodegenerative, neurodevelopmental, and psychiatric disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Provide high-level strategic support to the Head of Neuroscience in establishing and leading large-scale, innovative external collaborations that leverage Evotec’s iPSC, PanOmics, and integrated R&D platforms;
- Scientific Management: Oversee and guide the BMS-Evotec collaboration, from program design and development to execution, spanning phenotypic and target-based programs across >15 neurodegenerative projects (from discovery through IND, utilizing modalities including small molecules, ASOs, and biologics);
- Thought Leadership: Act as representative of Evotec Neuroscience, forging relationships with internal and external stakeholders and establishing new partnerships to elevate our research impact and reach;
- Portfolio Expansion: Identify and pursue early-stage licensing and partnership opportunities to expand and complement internal neuroscience initiatives;
- Technology Innovation: Drive the development and integration of novel technology platforms for CNS drug discovery, enhancing Evotec’s capabilities in addressing complex neurological conditions.
Ideal Qualifications:
- Advanced Academic Background: Ph.D. in Neuroscience or a related field such as Biology, Chemistry, Medicine, or Pharmacology;
- Deep Neuroscience Expertise: Extensive knowledge of the mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative, neurodevelopmental, and psychiatric disorders, with a demonstrated history of success in these fields;
- Proven Industry Track Record: 10+ years of Neuroscience R&D experience in drug discovery and development, from target identification to clinical PoC, within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry;
- Versatile Therapeutic Experience: Proficiency in various therapeutic modalities, including small molecules, antibodies, and ASOs, with hands-on experience in applying advanced methodologies in CNS drug discovery;
- Technological Leadership: Strong background in implementing cutting-edge drug discovery technologies such as iPSC, PanOmics, CRISPR, and data-driven approaches;
- Global Recognition & Network: Recognized leader in the neuroscience community with an established international network of academic and industry partnerships;
- Cross-Disciplinary Team Leadership: Experience leading and mentoring cross-functional teams to drive forward ambitious scientific objectives;
- Exceptional Communication & Cultural Competency: Outstanding communicator capable of navigating complex organizational, geographic, and cultural landscapes to achieve consensus and inspire collaboration;
- High Resilience & Self-Driven: A proactive, driven, and dynamic leader with a high tolerance for pressure, able to operate independently with strategic vision and adaptability;
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English (written and spoken); fluency in German is a plus.
