Research Associate

TUHH - Hamburg University of Technology

Hamburg, Germany

The aim of the project is to develop computer models to investigate how mechanical signals (strains/stresses), as a result of external loads applied to tissues, direct the formation of new blood vessels.

The project will be perfomed in tight collaboration with the Prof. Ansgar Petersen at the Berlin Institute of Health (Charite Universitaetsmedizin Berlin), who will perform in vitro experiments of blood vessel growth within in vitro bioreactors. Experimental data from these experiments will be used for model calibration and validation. The knowledge will be used to develop scaffold implant materials to support bone regeneration.

YOUR TASKS

  • Develop computer models of blood vessel growth within tissues;
  • Validate computer models with experimental data from our collaborators;
